-Keep your retainer in tip-top shape by cleaning it daily. If possible, clean it twice a day after you brush your teeth. All you need to do is brush it with a soft-bristled toothbrush and non-abrasive toothpaste. You can also soak it in denture cleaner overnight if you want a better clean.
-Keep your retainer out of hot environments. This is important because heat can warp and melt the plastic, which will change the way it fits in the mouth. Keep the appliance in a cool or room-temperature environment.
-Keep the retainer in a safe place when it’s out of your mouth, like in the case provided in your pocket, backpack, or drawer. This can help you avoid breaking and losing the retainer.
